GhostRider, I'm sure most Democrats would agree that Jimmy Carter was not a good leader for the economy - he was an exception. His skills obviously lay elsewhere, like Middle East peace. It is an historic fact that Democrats are more responsible OVERALL for a healthy middle-class, while Republicans are more responsible for a rollercoaster ride of hits and misses. The difference is we admit when we do poorly, whereas most Republicans seem to refuse to admit when their guys screw up. This will undoubtedly be a more honest debate when you admit how your guys screwed-up.
