GOP to Swift Boat Health Care Reform

Good Morning Bloggers! I need to point out a new GOP scumbag who is leading the charge against health care for all Americans. His name is Rick Scott, and he recently founded a group called Conservatives for Patients' Rights. Like all GOP organizations, the name has nothing to do with the mission.

Let's just say he's one more greedy asshole that has decided to go to war against the best interest of millions of Americans - not unlike the GOP when you think about it. All kidding aside, the man is human excrement in the way he seeks to destroy an initiative being developed by multiple concerned groups to solve a very important national crisis.

Opposition is one thing, but propaganda is completely different, and that's what they intend to create. It's true, Scott and his GOP operatives intend to "swift boat" health care reform. They are supposedly receiving millions in donations from those who currently profit from America's broken health care system. It's disgusting!

The Washington Post reports that he is working with CRC Public Relations, which is the illustrious group that masterminded the "swift boat" attacks against 2004 Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry. They also created the "Harry and Louise" propaganda ads that helped torpedo health-care reform during the Clinton administration.

Scott is a multimillionaire investor and former hospital executive, who has made millions profiting from an industry that can no longer afford to pay him. Unfortunately, greedy bastards like Scott do not go quietly into the night. They fight tooth and nail to hold on to their dirty money, seeking to pig out at the trough for as long as possible. People's lives be damned!

Most industry analysts will tell you that people like Scott - who make millions/billions from health care - profit at the expense of both patients and actual health care.

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the "it's just business" attitude that so many Americans cling to. We need to call out people like Scott and brand them for maintaining a cold and uncaring health care system. Their quest for profits leads to millions of unnecessary deaths - only the disingenuous and coldest of hearts would deny it.

Scott is the only notable so far spending as much as $5 million of his own money and - according to The Washington Post - as much as $15 million in donations to create a resistance to any government-run program. You know, the kind of program designed to help those Americans who can't afford private health insurance, or who have pre-existing conditions. The ones the GOP wants to ignore, allow to suffer, or even allow to die.

This charming group of heartless Republicans need to be isolated and attacked for their deceitful opposition to a reasonable, industry-wide solution. The latest GOP "swift boat" initiative needs to be isolated and mocked before it can burrow it's way into the brains of America's uninformed electorate. In other words, I hope somebody does something to "swift boat" them before they do too much damage.

Let's face it people, greedy bastards like Scott want to profit from your losses. In almost every instance, they seek to maintain broken systems that earn them billions in profits, at the expense of a better system that would give most Americans a better quality of life.

The GOP is trying to kill something that most Americans want, in addition to most businesses. America's health care costs - resulting mainly from private company profits - are out-of-control. We need President Obama and the Democrats to succeed. I will be writing more about this over the months ahead, but for now I think it's important to simply point out who the scoundrels are who seek to deny us something that we need very badly - it could mean life and death.

Boh you need to take a long hard look at your blog, you say you do not call names just about every post you make you try and portray people who disagree with your political views as being stupid.

It is about time that you grown up and write a post with some real substance and stop the name calling, just because someone has views different than yours does by no means make them ignorant.

To prove what I say all you have to do is look back through your post. I do believe you are jealous of people like Limbaugh, Hannity, Colter and the other peo0ple who make a living by having a talk show or writing number 1 best selling books something that you have not accomplished being the smart Liberal that you protray yourself as being.

Michael Boh said...

Fine Ghostrider, I do call some people names - VERY BAD people! I admit to some name calling, but NOT to being jealous. That's something that you project onto me for some absurd reason. Oh yes, you curse here all the time for no good reason. Your slurs would have more impact if you targeted them more. MB

US red ink rising even higher, to $1.8TThis is what you need to be concerned with Boh…see above

See how it feels when you are called a name for no other reason than a difference in political opinions something which you are very good at and may I say some of your name calling has been nothing but disgusting and based on nothing more than your liberal view points.

The people I see you calling names are no less an American than you, they are not sex offenders or criminals of any kind they have a different political view point than you, that alone does not make them bad, so come up with a better excuse for the name calling because that dog will not hunt.

Michael Boh said...

The difference GR is the people I call names are controversial public figures who often deserve scorn. I do not call people names willy nilly like yourself, especially my fellow bloggers - unless it's rude and crude you. Your characterization is wrong as usual. I stand by my positions and my name calling. My blog is all about my OPINIONS, therefore I have every right to research, write, and assess blame. Sometimes that blame is justifiably accompanied by some name calling - for added color. Michael

PS - Btw, you might try researching before you write more often, since it may help improve your image with other bloggers - and me.

Roastglider666 -- If you sit at home and express opinions -- even very derogatory ones -- about public figures, that's freedom of speech. If someone else walks into your home and starts insulting you, that's rather different.

A blog is the blogger's home turf. What he says goes. Just because a guy puts a political sign on his lawn doesn't mean you have any natural right to put your own political sign on his lawn too. It's all a matter of what he chooses to tolerate.

Michael Boh said...

Thanks Infidel! I don't think GR gets that distinction. He comes on progressive blogs like ours and demands that we refrain from criticizing public figures while right-wing nuisances like himself reserve the right to trash our politics and fellow bloggers. Infidel, you're right that I should moderate more. People are welcome to read my OPINIONS and comment, but not to be rude. I suggest we all reserve our rudeness and name calling for the public figures. Cheers to more moderation in the future - MB

Interesting thing about the health-insurance issue -- check out this map showing the distribution of uninsured people. They're disproportionately in red or recently-red states like Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida. I'm sure Goatrider6969 himself has health insurance, but a lot of the people who've been accustomed to voting Republican out of Godhatesfagsian religious preferences apparently don't. Yet another example of being egged into voting against self-interest. Such people may be reachable.

It's also interesting that the area with the fewest uninsured people is the rust belt. Must be all those union jobs.

ghostrider6265 said...

Boh I'm not demanding anything from you all I'm saying is if you are going to call names you are in the public domain the same as the people that you call names, once you make that step then expect to get what you dish out and if you cannot take it then take you little faggot Hollywood ass some where else.

ghostrider6265 said...

Infidumb yes I have health care insurance, I worked 40+ years for it and I still pay a good premium for it, and fuck no I'm not willing to pay more in taxes for all of these fucking liberal free loaders who expect everything to be given to them on a silver platter.

ghostrider6265 said...

The difference Boh is I consider you a controversial figure who deserve scorn.

I approve this message

goathumper6666 is apparently one of those defective off-products of brother and sister who couldn't form a coherent thought if his ass was on fire.

My advice to goathumper is to turn off the radio, and think. Idiot, you ALREADY subsidize everyone without health insurance, and it's a hell of a lot more expensive for you than it would be if there were universal coverage. Why do you shitstains have trouble with this concept?

Yes, I do call stupid people names. Some people are too stupid to merit anything but ridicule.

Michael Boh said...

Infidel - That map is fantastic! It is amazing the way people from red states (where I grew up) consider government to be either incompetent or their enemy. They never give it credit for programs that work even better than private sector players. They just don't look at the facts. Reagan did a LOT of harm in that area.

Oh, and GR (though I like some of your new nicknames), feel free to slam me if you wish (as long as you try to control yourself - the Hollywood fag comment is pretty horrible, but I'll ignore it for now), but I'll reserve the right to dump you from the site if provoked too far.

I dont' care about your antics. I do care about the fact that you are one of the few right-wing tards who at least tries to debate. You're pretty horrible at it, but I think you try nonetheless. Unless you try to push buttons to get thrown off, I think we should continue to hear your MOSTLY WRONG but still other point of view. I just hope you keep your bile to a minimum. Later - MB

He's just mad because none of them would give him a film role even when he offered to put out.

Oh, and it's kind of goofy to tell somebody to take it "some where (sic) else" when you're on his blog.

Boh I do believe you mentioned you grew up in Lousyanna, New Orleans to be exact, look who was running the place when Katrina hit land, nothing but Liberals and they tried to blame their incompetence back onto the Federal Government.

I do believe if you take a look at the majority of the Red States, they are solvent compared to the majority of the blues, especially that shit hole which you live people are fleeing by the thousands.

I live in a blue state which is in dire need of cash because the friggen Liberals have no idea on how to manage their money and every time you turn around they want to put a new or higher tax on an item, we are lucky that we have a conservative person who rallies the population around the flag pole to oppose these idiots.

Boh your problem is you want to be considered to be politically dangerous like some of the people you call names but you haven't a clue as to how to get the fame they have.

Michael Boh said...

Of course you'd believe that pile of GOP CRAP. The idea the Katrina DISASTER was a result of incompetent state and local officials is a joke to most reserachers/observers. Katrina destroyed so much there was NO WAY that state and local officials could have handled it without IMMEDIATE federal help.

Stop being a GOP pawn moron. Every reputable source that looks into the Katrina events/history knows that it is propaganda put forth to help the Bush Administration. Naturally you'd beleive it.

Red states are no more "solvent" than blue states. If they are, it's often because they're more rural and have less complicated problems. Btw, it's also true red states THINK they contribute more to the fed than blue states. That is CRAP! The fact is blue states transfer much more of their wealth to the red states. Red state citizens need to figure that out.

I would like to add that if Democrats were talking about succession the way Republicans are these days (in poll after poll), you Republicans would be screaming bloody murder about how unpatriotic we are. You'd be looking to try us all for treason by now. For me that just proves the GOP double-standard, and how much of a joke you guys are most of the time. What a bunch of confused idiots!

GR, progressives have come up most of the solutions to MOST of the problems in this wonderful country. You "conservatives" don't solve shit. You mostly avoid problems until they fester and threaten to bring down the Republic. You guys are the Party of Procrastination. You would avoid tackling everything and anything if we weren't there to push the agenda. You guys are the lazy, selfish slobs of the political world. The NO-NO-NO party!

In so far as seeking fame, that comment is just assinine. As usual, you're wrong. I do not wish to be "politically dangerous" or famous. I only care about influencing people abut politics and other issues, hoping to help create a better world. I just try to be a good American, working to help create a better country.

I'm sure I speak for most readers/bloggers here when I say that I can't tell what the hell you're doing on this blog, or anywhere for that matter. You NEVER offer solutions. All you do is deny facts, criticize and curse. You're just a negative nuisance, nasty and unhelpful in every way. MB

Infidel753 said...

Obviously GooSlurper$6.99 has never been employed in the field of local government. I have. It's sheer fantasy to imagine that local authorities could have coped with a disaster on the scale of Katrina.

The fact is blue states transfer much more of their wealth to the red states. Red state citizens need to figure that out.

Most notably, this happens via the farm-subsidy program, which is the second-largest welfare program in the entire world, after the European Union's "Common Agricultural Policy" (CAP), which serves a similar purpose.

Going by who gets more services than they pay for in taxes and vice versa, the red countryside sponges off the blue cities.

ghostrider6265 said...

$3.6 Trillion dollars, you want to tell me that is a fucking solution.

Most people cannot comprehend how much money that is.

I do believe there is more than enough proof out there that the Dems has as much to do with the current situation as the other party.

From the looks of your picture you probably aren’t old enough to remember the Carter years and what it took to pull us out of that fiasco.

Jolly Roger said...

goatchoker0000 talks about "proof" that can only be found in Michael Savage broadcasts. Funny, that is.

Michael Boh said...

GR, as always, you're getting your FACTS WRONG! It is a FACT that over 90% of today's 11 TRILLION DOLLAR deficit is a direct result of REPULBICAN presidents and Republican leadership. What Republicans say and do are two very different things. Democrats want to lower the deficit, and are motivated to do it because they want to help Americans. Republicans run up the deficit by lowering taxes, profiteering (war, health care, finance, etc.), and screwing up the country overall. As usual, you don't know what you're talking about. MB

Infidel753 said...

Clinton left the budget in surplus.

Bush ran deficits of such size that he almost doubled the national debt (that is, he increased the debt by almost as much as all previous administrations combined) -- and don't forget that Republicans controlled Congress too for most of Bush's eight years.

Bush ran deficits during relatively prosperous times -- the tail end of the Clinton economic boom.

After de-regulation of the financial sector finally produced a recession last year, some deficit spending was necessary to re-stimulate the economy. That's basic Keynsian strategy.

So Obama's deficit spending is at least party due to Bush.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reiterated her pledge to bring a health care overhaul bill to the House floor before August.

This in its self should scare the living shit out of the average person, this puffed up botoxed face bitch going to put out a health care plan what a fucking joke.

Glopstainer0.0001, your manners are even worse than your grammar, and that's really saying something.

Er, that's called "facts" and "math" and "reality". Concepts you appear to have some difficulty with.

ghostrider6265 said...

In the Obama scenario, health care reform equals recovery, an argument that leaves some Republican critics shaking their heads. Think back to last fall and the economic crash. There was a lot of talk about an overleveraged society, about Fannie Mae, about credit default swaps and collateralized debt obligations. Amid the emergency, was anyone saying, “We will never recover from this downturn unless we enact universal health care”? Obama is pulling off the world’s biggest change-of-subject.

In the end, it is becoming clearer and clearer that, as the deficit projections rise, the president is betting the fiscal health of the nation on his ability to enact universal, or near-universal, health care and, in the process of extending expensive health coverage to millions of currently uninsured Americans, actually save money for the taxpayers. It’s the biggest bet in generations, and its outcome will determine not only the fate of Obama’s presidency, but the nation’s fiscal future as well.

GR, many of us believe that health care reform is critical to fixing the economy. Yes, that means many of us agree with the president. That's WHY WE VOTED FOR HIM! We didn't vote for your gang, or for Byron York, so I guess that means you don't have much of a choice in this situation. So, my advice is to either suscede like your gang is threatening to do, or relax and see what happens. You never know, WE could be right. Looking back over the past 8-30 years or so, and who had a better run, I think Las Vegas would call us the odds-on favorite right now. MB

Dumb ass you forgot to tell the people that Obammys first go at it equaled what George Bush spent in his first 7 years, you guys are good at leaving most of the facts out of the picture.

ghostrider6265 said...

Explained to me how health care reform is going to fix the economy, according to Obammy just a few weeks back it was the banking industry, the housing industry, fixing the credit carding companies and the list goes on and on, I see as it when one thing does not work Obammy comes up with another idea what will fix it....the man hasn't a clue
